# Introduction

The blockchain ecosystem remains highly segmented, with individual networks offering unique capabilities. As decentralized finance (DeFi) adoption grows, so does the need for interoperability among these networks. **Multx** addresses this challenge by facilitating cross-chain token swaps via a trustless, multi-validator mechanism. With Multx, users can transfer tokens from one blockchain to another while maintaining network security and avoiding single points of failure.
